First backcountry steps – Chamonix

In February we had a three weeks break in the tight competition schedule, which turned out being one of the highlights of this season.

I was lucky enough to spend this time home, in Cordon (a small village close to Chamonix), and to explore the amazing terrain of the region, notably in Chamonix. The snow/weather conditions were quite good at that time too, which resulted in some great days following my friend Marion (Haerty) in her playground, or building Backcountry kickers for the first time.

Here are some pictures from a day and night spent in the mountains filming for Jeremy Pancras’ next movie, « Keep it real ». The crew was composed of Jacob Wester, Sofia Sjöberg, Jeremy and myself. We spent the day building and skiing a booter next to Le Plan de l’Aiguille, followed by a night in « Le Refuge du Plan de l’aiguille », cold but cosy!

It felt so good to get out of the parks for once and try a different kind of skiing, more connected to the mountains. I cannot wait to dedicate more of my time to backcountry next winter!
